Requirements

All Core Volunteers agree to:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Complete required volunteer training.
  • Commit to volunteering 2 to 4 times per month, depending on position.
  • Support and promote Habitat’s mission in our community.

Administrative and Office

Aging In Place (AIP) Support Volunteer, CAPABLE - Warehouse, Office, or Remote

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver (HFHMD) is partnered with the Colorado Visiting Nurse Association (CVNA) for an Aging in Place program. This program provides occupational therapy, nursing, and home modifications for seniors in the metro Denver area, with the goal of helping them continue to live safely, comfortably, and affordably in their own homes as they age. The AIP Support Volunteer would assist the project manager with data entry, phone calls, scheduling, and other office tasks to help Habitat provide efficient services to the homeowners. This position is approximately 4-8 hours per week. View the full position description here. 

Construction

Core Construction Volunteer
Work alongside Habitat future homeowners, volunteers, and staff to create change that can be seen for generations to come. No construction experience is necessary. Positions are available in four areas: New Construction, Home Repair, Renovations, and Production Shops. Volunteers must commit to about two days a month.

 

ReStore

New Arvada ReStore Opening: Core Volunteers Needed! 
Location: 5045 Robb St, Arvada, CO, 80004

As we anticipate the opening of a new ReStore in Arvada, we are looking for Core Volunteers to start training now, to be ready for the new location when it opens! Training will take place in our Denver or Littleton locations. Volunteers commit to a minimum of 15 hours per month.

Positions that are needed:

Merchandising Assistant 
Do you have an eye for color and furniture arrangements? Are you a closet interior designer who likes to help friends and family beautify their homes? The ReStore merchandising assistant position may be a great fit for you! Exercise your creative eye and make our ReStores stand out to customers. View position description here. 

Appliance Tester 
Use your electrical knowledge to conduct limited testing on donated appliances. Appliance testers determine whether a product is quality enough to be sold to our customers, and clean and tag tested appliances. Help customers who rely heavily on the ReStores' discounted items to maintain their homes. Dock Assistant
Help customers who rely heavily on the ReStores' discounted items to maintain their homes! This position screens and unloads donations, cleans and prices donations before they are placed on the floor. You must be able to lift 25-50 pounds, and have customer service skills. View position description here. 

Customer Service and Loss Prevention Volunteer 
Do you want to make an impact on your community, and enjoy enaging with people? This position assists staff by greeting, directing, and thanking customers in the ReStores, to ensures customers have a positive experience. View position description here. 

Cashier Assistant
Volunteer as a Cashier Assistant! This position operates our Point of Sales system, answers the phone, greets customers, restocks returns/exchanges, and other general cashier duties. View position description here. 

Floor Assistant
Floor Assistants help keep our ReStores organized by clearing the aisles of any obstructions, moving new items to the floor, answering customers questions, and moving sold items to the sold area. View position description here


Other ReStore Core Volunteer Positions:

Core ReStore Volunteer
Work alongside Habitat future homeowners, volunteers, and staff at one of the four Habitat Denver ReStores. Volunteers are trained in a specific area to provide support across ReStore operations and help increase funding for Habitat Denver. Help customers who rely heavily on the ReStores' discounted items to maintain their homes. Volunteers commit to a weekly shift, or about 15 hours a month.

Paint Processing Volunteer all locations
This position will help our ReStores evaluate whether donated paint is fit to be resold to the public and will process paint for sales. This position will start at 2-6 hours per week, or on an as-needed basis. Position can serve all four ReStore locations or serve in the closest location. The Donated Paint Processor will help the ReStore create more revenue as we start taking in paint donations, so that Habitat Metro Denver can create more affordable housing opportunities.  

Appliance Repair Lead Volunteerall locations
Are you handy and like repairing appliances? Join us as a Appliance Repair Lead Volunteer! Volunteers will diagnose and repair donated appliances in our ReStores, so that they can be sold at a low cost the public. We are looking for volunteers that already have the experience and knowledge of how to repair appliances. Time commitment is flexible, 4-8 hours a month.

Metals Recycling Volunteer all locations
Do you like taking things apart? Join our Metals Recyling Team! Volunteers take appliances that don't work and seperate the metals, to be recycled. Volunteers commit to a weekly shift, or about 15 hours a month. 

Cashier Assistant - Denver ReStore
Volunteer as a Cashier Assistant! This position operates our Point of Sales system, answers the phone, greets customers, restocks returns/exchanges, and other general cashier duties. Volunteers commit to a weekly shift, or about 15 hours a month. 

Skilled Volunteers Needed for On-Call Workall locations
Are you a licensed electrician, plumber, work in HVAC, or carpentry, and looking to volunteer but can’t commit to a regular schedule? Join our list of on-call volunteers that help with special projects in our ReStore locations! We will call you when we have a special project in a ReStore that needs a skilled volunteer. Scheduling and time commitment is flexible!
