All Core Volunteers agree to:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Complete required volunteer training.
  • Commit to volunteering 2 to 4 times per month, depending on position.
  • Support and promote Habitat’s mission in our community.

Administrative and Office

Front Desk Volunteer
Support our Office Adminstrator in this critical position by being the first point of contact for homeowners, volunteers, and visitors. This position will answer and direct calls, sort mail, greet visitors, and support our team through a variety of other administrative duties as well as special projects. We are looking for someone that can commit to two days a week, 8am-4pm (half days available) Monday-Thursday mornings.

Construction

Core Construction Volunteer
Work alongside Habitat future homeowners, volunteers, and staff to create change that can be seen for generations to come. No construction experience is necessary. Positions are available in four areas: New Construction, Home Repair, Renovations, and Production Shops. Volunteers must commit to about two days a month.

New Construction Support Admin Volunteer
Support Habitat's New Construction team with ensuring that Habitat is in compliance with the Davis Bacon prevailing wages, and by creating and tracking bids for subcontractors. No previous construction experience necessary, but experience using a project management software (ProCore or eComply) is a plus. Looking for an individual that is highly organized and detail oriented. Commitment of 4-8 hours a week, position can work on our New Construction Site or remote. 
 

ReStore

New Store Opening: Core Volunteers Needed! 

As we anticipate the opening of a new ReStore (location currently being decided, but will be in the Northwest Denver area), we are looking for Core Volunteers to start training now, to be ready for the new location when it opens! Training will take place in our Denver or Littleton locations.

Positions that are needed:

Merchandising Assistant 
Do you have an eye for color and furniture arrangements? Are you a closet interior designer who likes to help friends and family beautify their homes? The ReStore merchandising assistant position may be a great fit for you! Exercise your creative eye and make our ReStores stand out to customers. 

Appliance Tester 
Use your electrical knowledge to conduct limited testing on donated appliances. Appliance testers determine whether a product is quality enough to be sold to our customers, and clean and tag tested appliances. Help customers who rely heavily on the ReStores' discounted items to maintain their homes. Volunteers commit to a weekly shift, or about 15 hours a month. 

Dock Assistant 
Help customers who rely heavily on the ReStores' discounted items to maintain their homes! This position screens and unloads donations, cleans and prices donations before they are placed on the floor. You must be able to lift 25-50 pounds, and have customer service skills. Volunteers commit to a weekly shift, or about 15 hours a month. Looking for Dock Assistants specifically at our Aurora ReStore location. 

Customer Service and Loss Prevention Volunteer 
Do you want to make an impact on your community, and enjoy enaging with people? This position assists staff by greeting, directing, and thanking customers in the ReStores, to ensures customers have a positive experience. Volunteers commit to a weekly shift, or about 15 hours a month. 

Cashier Assistant
Volunteer as a Cashier Assistant! This position operates our Point of Sales system, answers the phone, greets customers, restocks returns/exchanges, and other general cashier duties. Volunteers commit to a weekly shift, or about 15 hours a month. 

Floor Assistant
Floor Assistants help keep our ReStores organized by clearing the aisles of any obstructions, moving new items to the floor, answering customers questions, and moving sold items to the sold area. Volunteers commit to a weekly shift, or about 15 hours a month.

Core ReStore Volunteer
Work alongside Habitat future homeowners, volunteers, and staff at one of the four Habitat Denver ReStores. Volunteers are trained in a specific area to provide support across ReStore operations and help increase funding for Habitat Denver. Help customers who rely heavily on the ReStores' discounted items to maintain their homes. Volunteers commit to a weekly shift, or about 15 hours a month.

Corporate Donations Support VolunteerDenver ReStore or option to work remotely
The Corporate Donations Core Volunteer will work closely with the Corporate Donations Manager to acquire and engage with corporations who donate materials and items to Habitat Metro Denver’s four ReStores. This position will help with day-to-day tasks such as sending out mailers, thank you notes, data entry, and social media posts. Looking for a commitment of 3-4 hours per week.

Donated Paint Processor Volunteer all locations
This position will help our ReStores evaluate whether donated paint is fit to be resold to the public and will process paint for sales. This position will start at 2-6 hours per week, or on an as-needed basis. Position can serve all four ReStore locations or serve in the closest location. The Donated Paint Processor will help the ReStore create more revenue as we start taking in paint donations, so that Habitat Metro Denver can create more affordable housing opportunities.  

Appliance Repair Lead Volunteerall locations
Are you handy and like repairing appliances? Join us as a Appliance Repair Lead Volunteer! Volunteers will diagnose and repair donated appliances in our ReStores, so that they can be sold at a low cost the public. We are looking for volunteers that already have the experience and knowledge of how to repair appliances. Time commitment is flexible, 4-8 hours a month.

Skilled Volunteers Needed for On-Call Workall locations
Are you a licensed electrician, plumber, work in HVAC, or carpentry, and looking to volunteer but can’t commit to a regular schedule? Join our list of on-call volunteers that help with special projects in our ReStore locations! We will call you when we have a special project in a ReStore that needs a skilled volunteer. Scheduling and time commitment is flexible!
