Wells Fargo is one of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver’s most committed corporate sponsors and has been a valued partner since 1998. Over the years, they have contributed more than $1 million to support our mission in Denver and touched thousands of metro Denver families. Wells Fargo partners with Habitat affiliates across the U.S. and since 2010 they have helped build 2,315 homes nationally and contributed 347,000 volunteer hours to accomplish this goal.
In 2012, with the support of a Wells Fargo, Habitat Metro Denver launched the Critical Home Repair program in Denver's Globeville neighborhood. Wells Fargo also helped fund the expansion of this program to Denver’s Elyria-Swansea neighborhood in subsequent years. Through the Critical Home Repair program, Habitat Metro Denver has partnered with 70 low-income homeowners to help them stay in safe, secure, and affordable housing.
Continuing their partnership with Habitat Metro Denver, Wells Fargo will support the 2016 Women Build, sponsor a new home in the Sable Ridge neighborhood, contribute countless volunteer hours at construction sites, and invest $250,000 in a new housing development in Sheridan, CO—the largest development project in Habitat Metro Denver’s history.
The new Sheridan Square development will consist of over 60 new homes, built over the next three-four years. This development will offer safe, decent homes for approximately 130 adults and 225 children, and most importantly revitalize the City of Sheridan. With Wells Fargo’s investment, the city of Sheridan could see a population increase of 5% which would not only revitalize the neighborhood but boost school enrollments and overall resources for the community.
“Habitat shares Wells Fargo’s passion and commitment to being a leader in helping revitalize and position neighborhoods for long-term success and we’re pleased to be a part of this exciting project in southwest Metro Denver,” said Shelley Marquez, Wells Fargo’s Community Development Manager for Colorado.
Thank you Wells Fargo for your past contributions, current support, and future commitment to better communities through safe, affordable homes!
