Thrivent Financial

Thrivent Financial has been one of the leading forces behind Habitat for Humanity’s work.  Their own Christian values for generosity and giving has translated to nearly $200 million since 2005—almost $2.5 million given to the Metro Denver affiliate alone. Locally, Thrivent has helped build new homes for 23 families, and has helped repair 20 houses.  In October 2013, Thrivent participated in the Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter Work Project to help make critical repairs to Habitat houses to ensure the partner families remain safe in their homes. As one of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver’s largest and most cherished sponsors, Thrivent Financial brought new momentum into the 2014 program.

Thrivent Financial’s $90,000 contribution in 2014 kicked off the construction of a new Sable Ridge home on July 9th, 2014.   The partner family members—Adrien and Leticia—have been dreaming of a safe and functional home for years.   With two young daughters, Adrien’s mother, and an infant, the family is overcrowded and faces many challenges in their current home. The heating problems make for a cold winter, and they are constantly dealing with plumbing leaks and various pests.  In addition to the living conditions inside the home, the surrounding neighborhood is unsafe and unfit to raise a young family. Adrien and Leticia shared that they have heard multiple shootings in the area, and look forward to raising their young daughters in a safe and nurturing environment in Sable Ridge.   Adrien and Leticia have already completed the majority of their sweat equity hours and are looking forward to participating in the construction of their new home.
