Habitat Metro Denver would like to recognize Habitat Helpers—a coalition of Catholic, Baptist and non-denominational churches—for their continued partnership with Habitat. This dedicated group is made up of representatives from 7 congregations in the Denver Metro area, and has supported Habitat's mission since 2005, when it became a partner coalition. In 2019, Habitat Helpers proudly began constructing its 14th house, now home to Donna and Christopher's family.
Donna and Christopher are proud parents of two sons and one daughter, work hard to provide for their family and want the brightest futures for their kids. Donna works as a para-educator for the Jefferson County Public School District while Christopher is a full-time maintenance technician at a local real estate company.
The couple felt stuck in their overcrowded apartment due to skyrocketing rental rates in metro Denver. They worried about their safety in their old neighborhood and dreamed of having adequate space for their family of five, who shared a small apartment.
By partnering with Habitat Metro Denver, Donna and Christopher built their current home in Habitat's College View Community. They now have affordable and consistent mortgage payments that will provide financial security for their entire family.
"We are really excited about having somewhere to call home," wrote Donna. "My family will have stability and a safe neighborhood to live in."
"Something else I am very excited about is knowing my children will always have clean clothes because we will have our own washer and dryer instead of using the community one which is very unreliable," Donna shared.
The additional benefits of owning their own home are not lost on the family. "My kids are excited to have a brand-new home with a backyard," Donna shared. "We are most excited about making this house our home, creating my dream garden, owning a pet, and make lasting memories."
Thank you Habitat Helpers for assisting one more family in reaching their dream of a safe, affordable home.

Consider making a donation to help us reach our goal of building homes. Each house is built with donated funds from congregations, individuals, and companies. Every little bit helps. Please take a moment to pray and consider how your gift can help Habitat change lives of families in need. Each donation is a true blessing in the eyes of the family who gets one step closer to their dream of homeownership and a better future for their children. All donations go directly to Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and help the Habitat Helpers reach their sponsorhip goal.
