Meet New Partner Family Sabah and Mohamed

Sabah and Mohamed are the proud parents of four daughters and four sons between the ages of 3 and 18. Sabah and Mohamed came to Denver from a Somalian refugee camp where they experienced some of the most challenging living conditions in the world. They moved to Denver seeking safety and stability, and to build a new life for their family.

“We are looking forward to having a better life and a better future for our kids,” shares Sabah.

Partnering with Habitat for Humanity will allow Sabah and Mohamed to have stability in their life and peace of mind knowing that they will no longer have to worry about rising rents.

Currently, Sabah and Mohamed’s family of 10 live in a 3-bedroom apartment. In addition to being over-crowded, this apartment has recurrent pest issues that threaten the health of their children.

Sabah and Mohamed and their eight children are so excited to move into a 5-bedroom home. Purchasing a home with Habitat allows Sabah and Mohamed to have stability in their life and relive worry about rising rents.

“Habitat for Humanity is a blessing,” said Sabah. “My family and I will have shelter and stability. Life will be completely different, from being in a refugee camp to owning a house!”
