Meet Core ReStore Volunteer Ed Fox

“Initially, it was the Habitat mission statement that connected with me. Now, I am continually motivated by Habitat for Humanity’s impact internationally and locally.” said Ed Fox, one of our newest Core Volunteers. Ed began volunteering with Habitat Metro Denver in May 2018 at the Littleton ReStore and enjoys spending time both in the store, as well as helping the Volunteer team with recruitment.

“The job is a unique match with my 40+ years of business experience,” shares Ed. “I enjoy the leadership opportunities, process/system challenges and hands-on experiences.”

Not only does Ed help recruit and rally volunteers, he assists ReStore customers who donate or are looking to purchase new and gently used appliances, furniture, cabinetry, and other materials. One of Ed’s favorite memories so far was when a dismembered bunk bed was dropped off…

“The ReStore staff provided the volunteers with the necessary guidance, encouragement, tools and supporting hardware.  We worked diligently for almost two hours piecing pipes, materials and a tent into a safe and secure “L” shaped bunk bed which immediately drew customer attention and sold within 15 minutes of assembly.”

“I am blessed to be in a position to give back, to volunteer and to support Habitat for Humanity,” shares Ed about why he became a Core volunteer. “I get a high degree of personal satisfaction interacting with the staff, ReStore customers, Habitat donors, and a wide range of volunteers. I enjoy the challenge of applying my personal experiences to volunteer opportunities.”
