Help Build Hope

Together Help Build Hope, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, Valley View Christian Church and over 90 volunteers teamed up to build and frame 51 walls in a single day. This event was full of smiles, laughter, and the dedication of a community coming together to help build affordable homeownership and hope.

“All lumber is precut ahead of time, so all that is happening is banging nails which makes it kid friendly too.  It’s a great, low-stress, team-building environment,” shares Colleen, Habitat Metro Denver Construction Supervisor.

Raymond Bodley, Director of Engagement for Help Build Hope shares, “My favorite memory of the day is of this little boy who was working hard with his grandfather and dad. They would start nails for him and he would proceed to drive them in with all his might and carry lumber back and forth. At the end of the day he walked over to the cooler and stuck his head right in the ice to cool off.”

With everyone building together all 51 walls were complete within two hours and delivered to the Habitat Metro Denver Production Warehouse that afternoon. Constructing these walls ahead of time reduces the cost of home building and allows homes to be framed more efficiently. Help Build Hope events like this provides a great format for teamwork, social responsibility, and giving back all while having fun and leaving a lasting impact on the community.
