Heather Lafferty, CEO of Habitat Denver Awarded Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Colorado

Heather Lafferty’s leadership and drive make her a mover and trailblazer, but it’s her compassion to better the community that makes her an amazing CEO at Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver.  Congratulations to Heather for being named one ot the 2019 Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce’s Top 25 Most Powerful Women.

Heather recognizes that strength comes from empowering others because it’s what she does every day. She is an extraordinary leader who empowers her staff, Habitat volunteers, her peers in the business community, and of course, Habitat’s partner families.

Habitat board member Ann Padilla-Parras shares, “I am living proof of the impact that community leaders like Heather have on people’s lives. In 1982, my family moved into a Habitat home in Denver and slowly, our lives began to change. My mom was raising me and my four other siblings on her own, and as a result of having a stable home and safe place to live, we all graduated from high school and went on to find jobs and build families of our own.”

Habitat Denver’s mission fuels Heather’s drive to build homes, communities and hope. During Heather’s tenure at Habitat Metro Denver, the organization has quadrupled the number of families served annually. Today, Habitat Metro Denver is serving more than 200 families a year through its homeownership programs with the support of more than 20,000 volunteers. Heather’s visionary leadership, dedication to affordable housing, and ability to bring diverse communities together is the heart of Habitat Metro Denver and is pushing our organization every day towards building a community where everyone has a safe place to call home.
