Habitat ReStores Recycling Impact
In honor of National Recycling Day, we wanted to share some fun stats about the recycling and earth-friendly work we do every day at our local ReStores. We partnered with a University of Denver MBA team to measure the quantity of waste stream diversion provided by materials sold by the ReStores, and here are some of the results:
- 90 tons of materials per week are sold at our registers
- 2 tons of cardboard per week is recycled
- 8 tons of metals is recycled per week through a volunteer-led program that separates metals from items that cannot be sold
This totals more than 90 tons per week of materials recycled, or 9.4 million pounds per year!
