There are many ways to make a planned gift to Habitat Metro Denver. You can name Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver as a beneficiary in your will, trust, insurance policy, individual retirement account, or establish a charitable gift annuity among other options. If you have already provided for Habitat Metro Denver in your estate plans, please allow us the opportunity to thank you by informing us and joining our Legacy Builders Society (by completing this form to the extent you feel comfortable).

Here is sample bequest language to share with your lawyer: 

“After fulfilling all other provisions, I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver (Federal Tax ID# 74-2050021), a charitable organization duly existing under the laws of the Colorado and located in Denver, Colorado, _______percent of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate [or $________ if specific amount] to be used in the areas of greatest need as the board of directors may determine.”


Naming Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver as a beneficiary to receive assets from your retirement plans (e.g. IRA, pension, 401(k)) or life insurance policies is an easy way to support decent and affordable homeownership after your lifetime.

The late Reverend Jane Hays built her life and legacy around service, and supported Habitat Denver for more than 20 years. With profound generosity, she bequeathed her home to benefit Habitat’s mission of building homes, communities, and hope, after passing this year.

Rev. Hays cared for her home, by cultivating a beautiful garden and remodeling it over the years. This home, and all the love and hard work it represents, will continue to build bright futures for hardworking Denver families.
