Habitat Metro Denver recently launched the 3rd annual Energy Industry Collaboration, which engages energy companies with Habitat’s mission of partnering with hardworking families to provide affordable homeownership opportunities. Ten companies make up the Energy Industry Collaboration: Concord Energy, Crestone Peak Resources, DCP Midstream, Discovery Natural Resources, Jonah Energy, Liberty Oilfield Services, MPLX, Occidental PetroleumSM Energy, Ultra Petroleum and Whiting Petroleum. Each company contributes financially to the project and they encourage their employees to volunteer.

In 2018, the second year of the partnership, the Energy Industry Collaboration was an incredible success that raised $325,775 in support of Habitat for Humanity. Additionally, the Energy Industry Collaboration partner companies engaged their employees who collectively donated 2,736 volunteer hours.

In the third year of the partnership the companies have raised $295,000 and the fundraising isn’t done yet!  The funding provided by the Energy Industry Collaboration is sponsoring two homes in Habitat Metro Denver’s Swansea Homes development.

This year the Energy Industry Collaboration is partnering with Araceli and Ernesto who are excited to raise their three children in a safe home that is in the community they love. They work hard to provide for their daughters who are 12 and 3-years old, and their 10-year old son. This is a very exciting time for their family.   By becoming homeowners through Habitat, they will be able to have the financial stability to support their children’s talents and dreams as well as their future.

Habitat for Humanity would like to thank the Energy Industry Collaboration for helping families realize their dream of homeownership!
