Women Build Fundraising Committee - A Tradition since 1995
Women Build has completed 22 homes under the guidance of the Denver affiliate. These 22 homes include the first ever Women Build blitz build in May of 2001. Five homes were built in 8 days with hundreds for women from around the US and women from Ireland and Canada. Fifteen years of success has been made possible through the support of the affiliate and a group of dedicated women volunteers who work together as the Women Build Fundraising Committee.
Many skills are learned and shared by these women as they raise funds and promote Women Build to the community. As the house is built so too are the bonds of friendship among the committee members, volunteers and the partner family.
Interested women of all backgrounds are welcome to participate on the committee. There's a little bit of something for everyone ~ fundraising, event planning, idea exchanges, etc. Email your interest to Aaryn Nielson.
Volunteer with Women Build in 2013
Are you interested in participating in Women Build? In order to fulfill its mission of funding Habitat homes and engaging women with Habitat’s mission, Women Build is seeking women to participate in the Friendraising program. Friendraising participants raise $250 in support of Women Build and then help to build a house on a Women Build volunteer day in August. Habitat provides each Friendraising participant with an online fundraising page, and women who have participated in the past have easily raised their funds in days! As a sponsor, you help to pay for the construction materials that are needed for one day on the Women Build house while participating in a natural team-building activity. Funds can be raised by individuals, companies or through other grants. Sponsors can provide up to 10 volunteers on their build and will have their names displayed on Habitat's website. The minimum donation for a sponsor is $2500.
It is also possible to be a Women Build sponsor and bring a coed group of volunteers to work on a different Habitat for Humanity home. If you would like more information about this program, contact Aaryn Nielson.
