There are a variety of ways to get your group involved volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver.  We work with interested volunteer groups of various sizes.

ReStores:

The ReStores offer volunteer groups a rewarding team building opportunity.  The ReStores are thrift stores that help to financially support Habitat of Metro Denver.  The ReStores accept donations of new and used building materials and then sell those items to the public at a significant discount.  Volunteering at the ReStores is a fun way of supporting Habitat’s mission of building decent, affordable homes.  To schedule a workday at a ReStore location, email Alice in the Volunteer Department or call her at 303-996-5468.  Click here for more information.

Construction Site Opportunities:

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver offers a variety of group volunteer opportunities ranging from a commitment of just one day to a commitment of completing an entire house.

Habitat build days are Thursday through Saturday each week, and a full day commitment from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. is required.  No previous construction experience is needed, just a willingness to learn!  We provide the safety equipment, tools, materials and supervision.  We ask volunteers to bring their own water bottles and lunches.

In addition to our need for volunteers we are also in need of financial support to pay for the materials our volunteers use on their build day.  It costs Habitat $160,000 to build each home, and we have to fundraise every dollar in order to meet that goal.  To help pay for the materials that the group will use we encourage a personal or corporate donation.  Your financial donation is vital to Habitat’s mission of making decent, affordable shelter for all people a reality.

Habitat partner families and our communities benefit in many ways from your investment in our program, and we know that your group will be enriched by the experience of supporting a low-income family in the construction of their new home.
